A Colorado State University grad has literal big plans for the abandoned and oft-trespassed sugar factory on Longmont city limits, but they aren’t likely to happen soon.

Kyra Czerwinski, 22, just graduated with a bachelor’s of science degree in landscape architecture from the university, and her senior capstone project was to redesign the former Great Western Sugar Company’s factory.

Czerwinski’s lofty master plan for the abandoned factory garnered an A from her professors, but are not practically feasible right now. She agreed that the sugar factory master plan was a little bit like a concept car — fun to think about.
